Robo Panic has finally released!

The development of this game was quite challenging in the later stages. As the game became closer to completion so too did the spaghetti code pile up. 

There is a plan to turn the game into 60fps in a future update but as mentioned earlier the code is very spaghetti and modifying everything to run correctly at 60fps is a chore I am unable to complete at the moment. 

Final changes added to the game is a day and night cycle, to make the game have a visual progression. It felt very stale to constantly have the same background throughout a whole play through. I also added a score multiplier, the more days you stay alive the higher your score multiplier. Finally I added one additional enemy, the Drill Bot, I felt none of the enemies in the roster targeted damaging the generator so I added a new one to fill that role. 

There is optimization I can do to the code to allow me to have more tokens, at the moment I am nearly at the limit for pico8. So if in the future I feel like updating the game a few additional things I would like to add are; a Leaderboard in game, some more visual effects, and finally if I can find a music creator an original soundtrack. 

I would like to do a shoutout to lazy devs academy this was my first project in pico8 and their shmup tutorial on Youtube was a create jumping off point.
